A short email this week - we're busy getting ready for this week's cavalcade of stars! It's important that you know that there are two shows this week – Thursday's The Audreys extravaganza and Friday's Sara Storer and Guests extravaganza.
It's a bit exciting that The Audreys will be stopping by The SoundLounge as they tour around Oz, don't you think?! These guys have been busy writing and recording their second release, 'When The Flood Comes', and are touring to share it with us all! This most recent album follows on from their debut album, 'Between Last Night and Us', which won the band the Best Blues and Roots Album ARIA a few years back.
Well known to anyone who makes the pilgrimage to Woodford each year, and from their myriad TV appearances, The Audreys are a great South Australian export and will be supported this Thursday by special guest J. Walker from Machine Translations.
Friday night we welcome the wonderful Sara Storer, a multi Golden Guitar-winning Australian singer-songwriter, and a small cast of Special Guests. May sees Sara playing a huge number of shows around the country promoting her recent release, Silver Skies, co-produced by The Waifs' Josh Cunningham.
Sara Storer sings in that wonderful tradition of strong women who hail from rural and regional Australia, and who capture moments and memories from life (and love) on the land and translate these into memorable lyrics and hearty melodies. Silver Skies is a bit of a departure from Sara's earlier work, and is more Missy Higgins than Missy herself!!
Next week we welcome back a certain Ms Miller-Heidke (on Thursday) and Dog Trumpet - from the men who brought us Mental As Anything (on Friday).

Following the critically acclaimed release of their debut long-player "Between Last Night & Us", ARIA award winning band The Audreys release their much anticipated sophomore album, "When The Flood Comes". It is an album of lyrical and sonic beautythat
expands their musical template beyond the alt-country-tinged instrumentation and smoky pop of their gorgeous debut, as heard in the striking first single Paradise City.
Hailing from South Australia, The Audreys feature smoky-voiced front woman Taasha Coates and her four dapper suited sidekicks. They have a history of sell out shows and stand out performances, and this tour should be no exception.
Special guest support on all shows will be J Walker (Machine Translations).
